This month we spoke to Patrick Venn, founder of financial wellbeing platform TOMII about being a personal finance bodyguard.
Tell us about your business
TOMII is a financial wellbeing platform which allows any employee to access a financial coach. We provide a space so that employees can work proactively on their financial health, one-on-one with an empathic Money Coach. Our mission – Financial peace of mind for everyone!
What particular challenges did you have to overcome in setting up your business, and since then?
There are countless! One specific challenge we faced early on was credibility. TOMII was new to the market and we didn’t have years of experience or customer testimonials behind us.
We decided to host free financial wellness events for companies to showcase our unique approach financial education (which can be a dull and boring topic!). Those early companies became our first few customers and allowed us to build the strong reputation we hold today.
Right now, our main challenge is building a killer team! Our first few hires are crucial to get right and we are working hard to find the best possible candidates to join our financial wellness revolution.
How does Pandle fit in?
Pandle saves me time, energy, and makes my life as a founder easier. As a small start up, everything I can effectively outsource or automate is extremely helpful, as there are always a million things to do.
TOMII helps people get their personal finances in order. I also needed to make sure I had my own business finances in order too!
What do you have planned for your business in the future?
We want to build the number one online platform for financial wellbeing. Everyone should have access to trusted, unbiased, supportive financial information.
Right now we are focused on one-on-one coaching spaces for employees. However, in the future we are going to add in TOMII events, financial tools, and on-demand chat support from a money coach.
Currently we are a B2B focused business which plugs into an employers’ rewards and benefits program. In the future, we would love to open our coaching platform directly to individuals who need our help!
