Pandle Update: Our Latest User Experience Improvements

Even the most useful tools can be made better by improving your access to them. Take the humble potato masher, for example. It does a great job of mashing potatoes, but it would be a nightmare to use if you kept it buried in your garden.

It’s why our passion for creating intuitive bookkeeping software includes making sure that all our features are accessible and easy-to-use, right away. With that in mind, we’ve been focusing on making some user experience improvements recently, to make things run as smooth as possible. Let me put the masher down, and I’ll talk you through it.

Bookkeeping software with a smoother user journey

We can all agree that taking care of your bookkeeping should be effortless, with seamless transitions through each part of the process. The trouble is some software providers concentrate all their efforts on moving users forward. It can make things a bit disjointed if you need to change or cancel a process halfway through.

Not on our watch.

For instance, our latest update includes a helpful redirect so that if you start to enter transactions using a File Import and press cancel, you’ll go back to the banking tab rather than the file import screen, so you don’t lose your way.

Our latest update also helps to remove unwanted obstacles in your bookkeeping journey. For example, if you ever need to update your details, Pandle will ask you to re-enter your password for extra security.

To make sure that the security check is a help and not a hindrance, you’ll now only need to do this once during a session. It means you can make a series of changes if you need to, without being bombarded with password requests after passing the security check. You’ll be able to get on with what you’re doing much more easily, without worrying about your data.

Updating the Opening Balance Wizard in real time

OK, so the Opening Balance Wizard isn’t an actual wizard, but it might as well be. If you’re moving to Pandle from another accounting system, you’ll need to enter opening balances. These are the closing balances from the previous systems on the date you stopped using it.

To make entering these into Pandle simple, our Opening Balance Wizard goes through each step of the process with you.

If you’re planning to make use of Pandle’s Items feature, you can even use it to add stock that was on hand when you made the switch.

To avoid any possible confusion, this update means that you can now delete an item when using the Opening Balance Wizard, and it will be removed in real time without waiting for a new page load. That way you’ll know exactly where you’re up to, with less risk of errors.

We’d even go as far as saying it’s smashing, if only we could remember where we buried that potato masher.
